Growing up in Genoa was very important for my directing career. It's such an inspiring place, with a great history and amazing architecture. I spent lots of time with young artists, DJ's and above all skaters and BMX-ers. I literally grew up in a perfect freestyle environment and the architecture of the city was perfect for it. After a few years of freestyle riding I was looking for sponsors and decided to make a video in order to impress them with my performance. It worked! Two years later I was a professional freestyle mountain bike-rider, riding all over the globe. I continued to film my friends and my own performances with a glorious Canon XM1 camera. Shooting and editing was my secondary passion. After a while I realized that actually I was much better behind the camera than in front of it. In 2007 I left my riding career to put my whole focus on filmmaking. At that time the show Jackass on MTV was very popular and I thought that if they could make a show with amateur equipment I could do the same. So, I started shooting videos for action sports brands such as Nike, Red Bull, Eastpak and other technical brands. Being an action-sport-lover allowed me to start shooting cars and motorcycles, as a natural transition after shooting freestyle riders and sport. I love to capture action, movement, in every form. My professional sports background has been a very important factor in developing my unique filming style. I always look for innovative solutions to shoot scenes in different ways. Years and years of freestyle gave me the power to present and shoot action films from a new point of view. I like to get inside the action. I'm currently based in Los Angeles and Milan. I work worldwide with some of the major agencies, such as Leo Burnett, BBDO, JWT, Hakuhodo, McCann and Armando Testa, making commercials for their clients including: Honda, Ducati, Chevrolet, Visa, Jeep, Giorgio Armani, Nike, Red Bull, Kawasaki, Nestlè, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and many others.
